职业时装模特委员会是经民政部和国家经贸委批准成立，从事时装模特选拔和推广的专门机构。职业时装模特委员会隶属中国服装设计师协会，其主要职责是制定时装模特的职业规范，组织时装模特资格评定，维护时装模特的合法权益和模特市场的公平竞争，开展国内外时装模特业界的交流与合作，选拔、培养模特新人，为成员单位提供有关中介服务。职业时装模特委员会为成员单位提供人才选拔和人才推介服务将主要通过每年一次的两个公开赛：一个是“职业赛”，即中国职业时装模特选拔大赛；一个是“星赛”，即中国模特之星大赛。

　　“职业赛”主要是组织模特委员会各经纪公司从院校模特专业在校生中选拔职业模特，以充实各经纪公司的模特队伍；而“星赛”则是由模特委员会各经纪公司面向社会选拔人才，帮助各成员单位推出模特新秀。

　　“职业赛”的获胜者由模特委员会推介到各成员单位签约，并将在中国服装协会和中国服装设计师协会举办和参与的各类活动中予以重点推广；“星赛”的获胜者将由各自的推选单位进行培训、推广，模特委员会将对其登记备案，并将与“职业赛”获胜者一道参加各类专业活动。

　　Approved by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, P. R. C and the CCPIT, China Professional Fashion Models Committee is a professional organization which specializes in fashion models selection and promotion. China Professional Fashion Models Committee is affiliated to the China Fashion Association, the duties of which are to formulate the professional regulations, organize the evaluation of qualification of fashion models, defend the legitimate rights of the fashion models and the fair play of the model market, carry out the exchange and cooperation between the Chinese and foreign model industry, select and train new models, provide related service for the member companies. China Professional Fashion Models Committee provides the service of talents selection and talents recommendation by means of the two annual open contests: One is Professional Contest, that is China Professional Model Contest; the other is Star Contest, that is China Model Star Contest.

　　The Professional Contest will organize the model agencies to select professional models from the model major students of the colleges and universities insgroupsto reinforce the models team, while the Star Contest selects model talents from the society by the members agencies with an aim to help the member agencies present the mew models. The winners of the Professional Contest will be recommended by the China Professional Fashion Models Committee to its member agencies as contract-signing models and will be promoted in the events organized by the China National Garments Association and the China Fashion Association. The winners of the Star Contest will be trained and promoted by the recommendation agencies, while the China Professional Fashion Models Committee will register and backup the winners of Star Contest and will be introduced to participate in all kinds of professional events along with the winners of the Professional Contest.
